I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2000.
In 2002, I co-founded Carrington Fox, a financial markets recruiter. We got lucky with the market and refined the operating model enabling us to grow to 100 fee earners across London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore across four brands by the time I was 27. We sold four of the brands in 2012. I founded the business with Nicholas Clarkin and our first hire, Nicholas Wells, became our partner. 18 years later we are godparents to each other's children and usually best friends. (Although I'm not sure you'd buy that if you read our WhatsApp group). If either of you is reading this, have a word with yourself and do some work!
In 2009 I founded Lucas Love Healthcare, a nursing agency. We scaled and the business sold to Bettercare Capital in 2016. My partners were Susanne Ritchie and Susanne Polland. They're amazing!
In 2014 I became CEO of Recruitment Entrepreneur. We scaled the business to 130 people in just 2.5 years and I originated, structured and transacted on all their most successful investments. I then left to set up Tempting Ventures.
When I founded Tempting Ventures, I wanted a partner to share the journey with, add value beyond capital, hold my feet to the fire and who had a similar international market focus. I chose Ian Temple, and Hydrogen Group made a minority investment in 2017. It's been an incredible journey so far!
